Abstract
THE PROBLEM OF THE SEX MOLESTER IN THE U.S. IS MORE SERIOUS THAN IS REALIZED, SINCE ONLY A FRACTION OF SUCH OFFENSES ARE REPORTED. MANY OF THESE OFFENDERS CONVICTED ARE RETURNED TO SOCIETY TO REPEAT THEIR CRIMES. PERSONAL RESEARCH AND RESEARCH REVIEWS EVALUATE WHAT IS BEING DONE ABOUT THE PROBLEM IN SOME OF THE MORE PROGRESSIVE STATES.
