This course outlines the procedures for the investigation of death when only skeletal remains are found.

Abstract

It presents guidelines for identification of the victim and describes procedures for determination of the cause and manner of death. Discussions cover toxicology and radiographic and serologic techniques. Identification techniques are presented for determining sex, race, age, stature, handedness, and individual traits of the skeletal materials. The legal importance of evidence collection is emphasized. The program is recommended for practicing pathologists, medical examiners, medical students, attorneys, and law enforcement officers.
