TOPICS COVERED IN THIS MANUAL INCLUDE PRELIMINARY PROGRAM PLANNING, MANAGEMENT OF TRAINING RESOURCES, PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT, AND SELECTED EXAMPLES OF TRAINING MATERIALS. SUGGESTIONS FOR TRAINING, AND TIPS ON CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES ARE ALSO GIVEN. FACTORS THAT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED IN PROGRAM EVALUATIONS, A MINIMUM SUGGESTED BASIC LIBRARY, AND SOURCES OF INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCE ARE PROVIDED AS WELL. APPENDIXES INCLUDE A JOB ANALYSIS OF THE PATROLMAN POSITION, A SAMPLE BASIC TRAINING PROGRAM, AND A SAMPLE FIELD TRAINING RECORD FORM.
