This project involved two ethnographical studies of the daily lives of young offenders within two new custodial facilities in Belgium's French-speaking region.
Abstract
This project intends to contribute to the debate on the impact of these two new Federal centers for imprisoning young offenders. These prisons have been promoted as a new type of institution distinctively tailored to the needs of young offenders. The experiences of the youth in these prisons are compared with life in previous custodial facilities for youth in Belgium. 20 references
