A COMPUTER PROGRAM WHICH RECEIVES PSEUDO 'CALLS' AT A TYPICAL PATTERN OF ARRIVAL TIMES AND PROCESSES THEM IN A WAY CORRESPONDING CLOSELY TO THE REAL LIFE SITUATION.
Abstract
THE MODEL DESCRIBED CAN BE USED TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT SUCH FEATURES AS COMMUNICATIONS RESOURCES, POSSIBLE ORGANIZATION OF OPERATORS, TYPES OF INCOMING CALLS, AND ACTIONS TAKEN IN HANDLING CALLS. THE APPLICATION OF THIS MODEL TO THE BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND POLICE FORCE OPERATIONS IS DISCUSSED. FLOW CHARTS AND GRAPHS ILLUSTRATE THE ARTICLE.
