SPECIALIZATION OF PROFESSIONAL STAFF ROLES WITHIN THE INSTITUTION LEADS TO DISTRUST AND MANIPULATION BY THE YOUNGSTERS.
Abstract
NEW TREATMENT MODELS ARE DESCRIBED, EMPHASIZING INTEGRATION OF ROLES AND PERSONAL INTERACTION. WHEN YOUNGSTERS ARE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN THEIR OWN TREATMENT AND TO SHARE IN THE DECISION-MAKING APPARATUS OF THE INSTITUTION, THEY ARE ABLE TO ACHIEVE INCREASINGLY COMPLEX GOALS. PEER LEADERS DEVELOP, AND THEY SHARE LEADERSHIP WITH ADULTS IN HELPING THE GROUP REACH THESE GOALS.
