A GENERAL COMMITTEE FOR THE SECURITY OF BANKS AND THE POSTAL, TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH SERVICE AND VARIOUS SUBCOMMITTES HAVE BEEN SET UP IN THE NETHERLANDS BECAUSE OF THE INCREASING NUMBER OF BANK ROBBERIES.
Abstract
THE NETHERLANDS BANKERS ASSOCIATION TOOK THE INITIATIVE IN MAKING THIS STEP. REPRESENTATIVES OF THE MINISTRY OF JUSTICE, THE POLICE AND THE TRADE UNIONS WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE MEMBERSHIP. THESE COMMITTEES WILL PROVIDE GUIDANCE AND INSTRUCTIONS ON SECURITY TO INSTITUTIONS THAT HANDLE LARGE AMOUNTS OF MONEY, AND THEY WILL ALSO SUPPLY SECURITY DEVICES AND EQUIPMENT. A SPECIAL FORM HAS BEEN PREPARED ON WHICH WITNESSES (EMPLOYEES OR CUSTOMERS) CAN RECORD SUCH INFORMATION AS PERSONAL DESCRIPTIONS, VEHICLE DESCRIPTIONS, ETC., AFTER A ROBBERY, FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE POLICE.
