A DISCUSSION OF COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT WITH AND ACCEPTANCE OF RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT CENTERS FOR JUVENILE DELINQUENTS AND MALADJUSTED CHILDREN.
Abstract
THIS REPORT SHOWS THE PROBLEMS ARISING FROM THE ATTITUDE OF SOCIETY TOWARDS YOUNG OFFENDERS AND SOCIALLY MALADJUSTED CHILDREN, AND IN PARTICULAR, SOCIETY'S ATTITUDE TOWARDS THE INSTITUTIONS PROVIDED FOR THEM. SOME PRINCIPLES ARE SUGGESTED TO BE FOLLOWED TO ENSURE BETTER INTEGRATION OF THE INSTITUTIONS INTO THEIR COMMUNITIES. THE COMMUNITIES, IN TURN, SHOULD MORE READILY ASSUME THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THESE OFFENDING OR SOCIALLY MALADJUSTED YOUNGSTERS.
