PROFILES OF THOSE ENGAGED IN LAW ENFORCEMENT AND CORRECTIONS IN TEXAS ARE DRAWN FROM A SURVEY OF THOSE PRESENTLY EMPLOYED, AND A 10 YEAR PREDICTION MADE.
Abstract
THE FOLLOWING CHARACTERISTICS WERE REVIEWED - DEMOGRAPHIC DATA, OCCUPATIONAL HISTORY, EDUCATIONAL HISTORY, PROFESSIONAL IDENTIFICATIONS AND TRAINING EXPERIENCES. SEPARATE SURVEYS WERE CONDUCTED FOR CORRECTIONAL WORKERS AND POLICE OFFICERS IN BOTH A LARGE AND A SMALL DEPARTMENT.
