This is the 40th Annual Report of the Judicial Council of the Louisiana Supreme Court, covering calendar year 1995.
Abstract
This report documents the 1995 workload of Louisiana's courts, including courts of limited jurisdiction. There is information relative to the work of: (1) the Judicial Council; (2) the Judiciary Commission of Louisiana; (3) the Law Library of Louisiana; (4) the Judicial College; and (5) the Office of the Judicial Administrator, which is the hub of activity for Louisiana's courts. The statistical section includes data on: (1) State budget for fiscal year 1995-1996; (2) Supreme Court; (3) Courts of Appeal; (4) District Courts; (5) Family and Juvenile Courts; and (6) City and Parish Courts. There are court district maps, and a diagram of court structure. The reports on various courts present trends in activity for the years 1993-1995 in numerous categories, including: (1) Appeals; (2) Writs; (3) Rehearings; (4) Original Jurisdiction; (5) Other Matters, including Filed, Opinions Rendered; (6) Other Per Curiam Opinions Rendered; (7) Total Filings; (8) Total Opinions Rendered; (9) Time From Filing to Disposition on an Appeal; and (10) various delinquency matters.
