NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF A MATHEMATICAL MODEL OF THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM, ILLUSTRATED WITH FLOW DIAGRAMS AND TABLES.
Abstract
IN JUSSIM, THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM (CJS) IS REGARDED AS A SIMPLE PRODUCTION PROCESS AND REPRESENTED BY A FLOW DIAGRAM. THE FLOW DIAGRAM SPECIFIES VARIOUS NODES AND CONNECTING PATHS BETWEEN THE NODES. THE NODES REPRESENT THE PROCESSING STAGES WITHIN THE CJS, AND THE CONNECTING PATHS DESCRIBE THE WAY THAT INDIVIDUALS FLOW THROUGH THESE STAGES. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)
