Abstract
THE AIM OF THE TEXT IS TO INTEGRATE THE BROAD SOCIAL AND CULTURAL ASPECTS OF DELINQUENCY WITH THE DEVELOPMENTAL PROCESSES OF DELINQUENT BEHAVIOR IN A PERSON. DELINQUENCY IS DEFINED THEORETICALLY AS STATED BY LAW, REALISTICALLY IN TERMS OF WHAT THE PUBLIC WILL STAND IN THE WAY OF MISCONDUCT, AND FACTUALLY ACCORDING TO ACTUAL OCCURRENCE. CONCEPTS OF INDIVIDUAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENTAL SOCIAL PROCESSES ARE APPLIED TO THE EMERGENCE AND DEVELOPMENT OF DELINQUENT BEHAVIOR IN THE INDIVIDUAL CHILD. THE EFFECT OF NUMEROUS FACTORS ON DELINQUENT BEHAVIOR AND ON THE PRODUCTION OF A DELINQUENT PERSONALITY IS STUDIED INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES, SOCIAL DISORGANIZATION, SOCIALCLASS SUBCULTURES, PEER GROUPS, AND FAMILY LIFE. DIFFERENT PATTERNS OF DELINQUENT BEHAVIOR, EACH OF WHICH TENDS TO DEVELOP UNDER SPECIFIC SOCIAL CONDITIONS, INSTITUTIONAL EFFORTS AT CONTROL AND TREATMENT, AS CARRIED OUT BY PUBLIC SCHOOLS, COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, AND ORGANIZATIONS, AND AGENCIES WORKING SPECIFICALLY WITH DELINQUENT CHILDREN, LEGAL METHODS OF DEALING WITH DELINQUENTS, ORGANIZED IN THE ORDER IN WHICH A DELINQUENT CHILD PASSES FROM ONE TO ANOTHER STAGE OF THE PROCESS POLICE, DETENTION, JUVENILE COURT, TRAINING SCHOOL, AND RELEASE AND AFTERCARE ARE DISCUSSED.
