Abstract
In addition to general rules for police vehicle operation, procedures address emergency operation of vehicles, car chases, and roadblocks. Procedures for call responses pertain to arrival at the scene, responsibilities at the scene, and the management of specific types of call incidents. Procedures for arrest, search, and handcuffing cover the authority to stop and frisk as well as arrest, the use of deadly force in an arrest, escape, and when and how to use handcuffs. Prisoner transport procedures encompass the use of the patrol wagon and police cars for transport. Other procedures deal with pedestrian checks, traffic violations, car checks, automobile searches, etc.
