Abstract
EXPERIMENTAL POLICE PATROL AREAS WERE ESTABLISHED ACCORDING TO THE FOLLOWING DEMOGRAPHIC CRITERIA-INCOME, CRIME, PERMANENCE OF RESIDENCE, ETHNICITY, AND HISTORY OF CALLS FOR POLICE SERVICE. THIS DOCUMENT MERELY DESCRIBES THE MATHEMATICAL METHODS USED IN FORMING THESE PATROL AREAS. A MAP OF THE EXPERIMENTAL BEATS IS PROVIDED.
