This report summarizes the case filings, expenditures, construction projects, information systems, and other activities of the Kentucky courts from July 1997 through June 1998.
Abstract
A statement by the Chief Justice of the Kentucky Supreme Court notes that the increased case filings and reduced time to close cases over the past 5 years indicates the progress made in judicial performance. He also notes the need for further improvements, for court construction and maintenance as a funding priority, and for improved technology. Additional sections note the increase in filings for domestic violence and civil lawsuits, the improvement of video arraignments, the preparation of information systems for the year 2000, pretrial services, education services, juvenile services, and other programs and activities.
