CONTEMPORARY APPROACH TO JUVENILE DELINQUENCY WHICH ASSUMES THAT THE AGENTS OF SOCIAL CONTROL ARE PARTIALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR DELINQUENT BEHAVIOR.
Abstract
THIS CANADIAN STUDY GIVES SPECIAL ATTENTION TO EMPIRICAL ANALYSES OF POLICE-JUVENILE ENCOUNTERS, YOUTH DEMEANOR AND POLICE RESPONSE, POLICE BIAS AND MINORITY GRROUP RELATIONS, AND THE ORGANIZATION OF POLICE WORK. SUGGESTIONS FOR FURTHER RESEARCH ARE MADE FOR DETERMINING THE EXTENT AND DIRECTION OF POLICE INFLUENCE ON THE CHARACTER OF JUVENILE OFFENDERS.
