Abstract
One of the articles on hiring and retention, "Solutions to Stress from Traumatic Incidents," discusses how to prepare for traumatic events in police work, so officers are helped to deal with stress that stems from such incidents. A second article on hiring and retention, "By the Book" emphasizes the importance of all officers of any rank staying current on changing laws and policies throughout their careers. The third article on hiring and retention, "Upgrading Your Police Officer Oral Interviews," offers tips for improving job-applicant interviews, in order to assess how the applicant presents himself/herself. "Cell Phone Analysis, Part 2," one of the feature articles, provides guidance in analyzing the wealth of information on cell phones and smart phones that can be used for both live and historical tracking. The second feature article "Internet Exploitation of Children," discusses the recent increase in the victimization of children over the Internet and the police response to it. The preview of the 2013 SHOT show - which is the largest and most comprehensive trade show in the Country for professionals involved with the shooting sport and hunting industries - lists the organizations that will be exhibiting at the show. The magazine's departments present articles with the following titles: "The Police Marksman Returns," "Commentary: Angels and Cops - Signs that the Force Is With Us," and "Early Warning Systems: Part 1." Two other departmental articles pertain to "Fleet Management" and "Product Spotlight."
