The supplement presents corrections cases current through June 1982. They pertain to issues such as the sentencing process, prisoners' rights and responsibilities, prisoners' remedies, corrections in the community, and restoration of offenders' rights.
Abstract
Cases cited deal with disparity and individualized justice in the sentencing process and procedural protections. The status of pretrial detainees and convicted offenders, substantive rights of prisoners, and procedural rights of prisoners are covered. Other subjects include access to the courts, requisites for successful judicial actions by prisoners on prison conditions or treatment, potential range of remedies available to prisoners, and rights upon release.
