MUTUAL AID PROCEDURES AND OPERATIONAL PLANNING GUIDE FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS FOR EFFECTIVE SUPPORT DURING EMERGENCIES.
Abstract
THIS CHECKLIST AND GUIDE WAS COMPILED AFTER EXTENSIVE INTERVIEWS AND FIELD EXPERIENCE WITH SHERIFFS' OFFICERS AND POLICE DEPARTMENTS. IT CONTAINS SUGGESTIONS AND PRACTICAL CONSIDERATIONS DESIGNED TO ASSIST LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THOSE PLANS NECESSARY FOR AN EFFECTIVE EMERGENCY RESPONSE PROGRAM. THE FIRST SECTION DEALS WITH MUTUAL AID PROCEDURES AND THE ACTIONS NECESSARY TO EFFECTIVELY USE MUTUAL AID SUPPORT WHEN IT ARRIVES DURING A LOCAL EMERGENCY. THE SECOND SECTION CONTAINS AN OPERATIONAL PLANNING GUIDE AND INCLUDES CHECKLISTS WHICH SHOULD BE OF VALUE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN OVERALL PLAN FOR UNUSUAL OCCURRENCE OPERATIONS.
