THE REGIONAL CRIMINAL JUSTICE CENTER WOULD COORDINATE AND APPLY GOVERNMENTAL, PRIVATE, AND UNIVERSITY RESOURCES TO THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE NEEDS OF EIGHT SOUTHEASTERN STATES.
Abstract
THE SERVICES PROPOSED FOR THE CENTER INCLUDE A COMMUNICATIONAL, COORDINATIONAL, AND CONTRACTUAL CLEARINGHOUSE OPERATION WITH A CAPACITY FOR RECEIVING, STORING, AND DISSEMINATING A VARIETY OF INFORMATION. IN THEORY THE CENTER WOULD ACT AS A REGIONAL CATALYST WHICH, TOGETHER WITH THE STATE PLANNING AGENCY AND THE REGIONAL OFFICE, WOULD HELP TO IDENTIFY REGIONAL NEEDS, PROVIDE A LIMITED RESEARCH BASE FOR EXAMINING THE NEEDS, PROVIDE ASSISTANCE IN PLANNING FOR THE NEEDS, EVALUATE RESEARCH AND PROJECT EFFORTS, AND IDENTIFY RESOURCES FOR APPLYING EVALUATED RESEARCH AT THE PRACTITIONER LEVEL.
