LEGAL AID INCLUDING ITS PRESENT STATUS, HISTORY, PHILOSOPHY, AND FUTURE REPRESENTING AN AUTHORITATIVE COMPILATION OF FACTS.
Abstract
THIS RESEARCH CLASSIC WAS FIRST PUBLISHED IN 1951 AND WAS REPRINTED IN 1971. THE MOTIVATING FORCE BEHIND THE PUBLICATION WAS THE BELIEF THAT LEGAL REPRESENTATION MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL AND THAT, AS YET, IT IS NOT SUFFICIENTLY AVAILABLE. IT IS A WELL-DOCUMENTED ACCOUNT OF WHAT LEGAL SERVICES ARE NEEDED, WHO NEEDS THEM, WHO PROVIDES THEM, AND WHO BEARS THE COST.
