Abstract
The campaign for drug legalization is growing and becoming more popular in many circles. This trend is dangerous since the drug legalization movement will result in more drug addicts, more abused children, and more victims of muggings and robberies. Most drug-related crimes are not the result of addicts who are desperate for money to support their habits. Rather, drug-related crimes are the result of drug addicts who engage in criminal activities because they believe crime is the only way to make a living. If drug legalization makes drugs available with no penalty, more addicts and crime will result.
