A SURVEY OF LOCAL CITY AND COUNTY JAILS IN OKLAHOMA TO DEVELOP PLANS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF SERVICES AND EVALUATE EXISTING JAIL FACILITIES.
Abstract
THE SURVEY WAS BASED ON QUESTIONNAIRES SENT TO ALL CITY POLICE AGENCIES PROVIDING JAIL SERVICES TO POPULATIONS OVER 2500 PLUS ALL COUNTY JAILS IN THE STATE. THE RESPONDENTS SUPPLIED INFORMATION PERTAINING TO THEIR RESPECTIVE JAILS ON SUBJECTS SUCH AS - CONDITIONS, SIZE, WIRING, PLUMBING, FIRE APPARATUS, EMERGENCY EXITS, MAXIMUM CAPACITIES, HEATING, FACILITIES FOR SICK AND MENTALLY DEFICIENT PRISONERS, PERSONNEL, CELL SIZES, KITCHEN, TOILETS, CLOTHING, PROCESSING ROOMS, VISITING ROOMS, CONSULTATION ROOMS, AND CLINICS.
