DETAILS OF A TOKYO MURDER CASE IN 1973 THAT LED TO THE DISCOVERY OF A 'BODY-FINDING MACHINE'.
Abstract
THE BODY-FINDING DEVICE IS ACTUALLY A SIMPLE SOIL EXAMINATION STICK. SAMPLES OF SOIL TAKEN FROM THE TWO SQUARE MILE SEARCH AREA WERE TESTED FOR ALKALINE SUBSTANCES PRODUCED IN THE BODY DURING THE FINAL STAGE OF DECOMPOSITION. THE FIVE-MONTH SEARCH FOR THE VICTIM'S BODY IS DESCRIBED IN DETAIL.
