Abstract
THIS ARTICLE IS INTENDED AS A RESPONSE TO 'POSITION PAPER ON MARIJUANA,' AN ARTICLE APPEARING IN THE MARCH 1975 ISSUE OF 'POLICE CHIEF.' IN THIS ARTICLE, THE AUTHOR, CHIEF E.M. DAVIS OF THE LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT, SUGGESTED THAT DECRIMINALIZATION OF MARIJUANA WAS TANTAMOUNT TO ABANDONMENT OF OUR CITIZENS, PARTICULARLY OUR YOUTH, TO PSYCHOLOGICAL, PHYSIOLOGICAL, AND SOCIOLOGICAL DESTRUCTION.
