Abstract
INCLUDED WITH EACH DETAILED RECOMMENDATION IS AN INTERPRETATION OF THE FUNDING POLICY ASSOCIATED WITH EACH STANDARD. THE DOCUMENT DISCUSSES THE PROBLEM OF POLICE SERVICES AND THE NEED FOR POLICE STANDARDS, THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE POLICE STANDARDS COMMITTEE, AND THE POLICE STANDARDS PUBLIC HEARINGS. TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR COMMISSION FUNDS, POLICE AGENCIES MUST COMPLY WITH THE STATED STANDARDS. THE APPENDIX CONTAINS A LISTING OF THOSE GIVING TESTIMONY AND THOSE IN ATTENDANCE AT POLICE STANDARDS HEARINGS, AND A SELECTED BIBLIOGRAPHY.
