Abstract
STUDY OBJECTIVES WERE - TO MEET THE STANDARDS OF THE HIGHWAY SAFETY ACT OF 1966, PROVIDE MORE EFFECTIVE INTERGOVERNMENTAL RELATIONSHIP IN CARRYING OUT POLICE TRAFFIC PROGRAMS, ESTABLISH GUIDELINES FOR CONTINUOUS PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT AND PROVIDE A SYSTEM FOR PROJECTING PROGRAM COSTS. THREE AREAS WERE STUDIED - TRAINING, MANPOWER AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS. STATISTICAL DATA, FINDINGS, RECOMMENDATIONS AND BIBLIOGRAPHY ARE INCLUDED.
