Abstract
OPERATIONS RESEARCH TECHNIQUES ARE EXAMINED IN RELATION TO THE IMPROVEMENT OF POLICE RESPONSE TIMES AND THE ANALYSIS OF POLICE DECISION-MAKING EFFECTIVENESS. ON-LINE COMPUTER FILE SEARCHES FOR MODUS OPERANDI AND CRIMINAL RECORDS ARE ALSO DISCUSSED.
