This paper develops a theoretical model for the minimum detectable effective cross-section for an ultrasonic motion sensor (UMS).
Abstract
The model is developed based on minimum detectable power or where power is assumed to be within the frequency band defined as an alarm condition. A theoretical view of the effect of an isotropically radiating target versus a specularly reflecting target is also presented. 4 figures, 39 formulas. (Author abstract modified)
