STUDY DEALING WITH THE HISTORY OF PENAL LEGISLATION REGARDING THE MENTALLY ABNORMAL IN YUGOSLAVIA, AND AN ANALYSIS OF THE PRESENT EPIDEMIOLOGICAL SITUATION IN YUGOSLAVIA AND ABROAD.
Abstract
THE AUTHOR STATES THAT THE PRESENT SITUATION REGARDING THE ABNORMAL OFFENDERS AS WELL AS THE ADVANCE OF PSYCHIATRIC KNOWLEDGE ALLOW FOR A NUMBER OF RENOVATIONS INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING - FIRST, PSYCHOTIC OFFENDERS SHOULD BE TREATED WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE PSYCHIATRIC SERVICE, LIKE OTHER PSYCHOTICS WITHOUT FORMAL SECURITY MEASURES. SECONDLY, SUBNORMAL OFFENDERS WHO CANNOT BE TREATED WITHIN THE HOME ENVIRONMENT SHOULD BE SENT TO THE STATE TREATMENT CENTER FOR SUBNORMAL AND ORGANICALLY AFFECTED PERSONS WITHOUT USING ANY FORMAL SECURITY MEASURES.
