CRIMINAL JUSTICE AGENCIES DISCUSS PROBLEMS OF CRIME CONTROL COOPERATION IN THE METROPOLITAN WASHINGTON AREA.
Abstract
LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL AGENCIES IN THE MARYLAND, VIRGINIA AND DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA AREA TOOK PART IN THE CONFERENCE. THE PARTICIPANTS WERE ORGANIZED INTO EIGHT WORKSHOPS. WORKSHOP AREAS INCLUDED CIVIL DISORDERS, DRUG ABUSE, POLICE, COURTS, CORRECTIONS, JUVENILE DELINQUENCY, ORGANIZED CRIME, AND PROSECUTION AND DEFENSE. THE REPORT CONTAINS A DISCUSSION BY WORKSHOP AREA OF THE INDIVIDUAL RECOMMENDATIONS ARRIVED AT BY THE PARTICIPANTS. THE STATE PLANNING AGENCIES AGREED TO COORDINATE THEIR CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING EFFORTS AS IT RELATES TO THE WASHINGTON METROPOLITAN AREA. THE AGREEMENT IS ATTACHED TO THE REPORT. THE ATTACHMENTS INCLUDE A LIST OF PARTICIPANTS, SPEECHES AND REMARKS BY PARTICIPANTS, AND A SURVEY ON THE MOBILITY OF OFFENDERS IN THE WASHINGTON AREA.
