This national directory lists (by State and territory) community shelter, safe home, and service programs designed to meet the needs of domestic violence victims.
Abstract
The information is derived from survey forms submitted by each program. In addition, the directory contains a list of national information and resource centers related to domestic violence. In tabular form, the directory shows the name and address of the organization administering the program, telephone numbers, and services provided. Services include shelter, safe homes, 24-hour hotlines, telephone availability for the hearing- impaired, counseling, advocacy, nonresidential support groups, children's counseling and programs, rape and sexual assault services, emergency transportation, legal services, wheelchair- accessible services, and counseling for batterers. Also provided are the maximum length of stay in a program, and program availability in a language other than English are identified.
