THE NATIONAL NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH PROGRAM IS AN ANTIRESIDENTIAL BURGLARY CRIME SPECIFIC PREVENTION PROGRAM THAT DISTRIBUTES EDUCATIONAL LITERATURE TO LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES FOR SUBSEQUENT PUBLIC DISSEMINATION.
Abstract
THE EVALUATION MEASURES INCLUDE SUCH THINGS AS AMOUNT OF MATERIAL DISSEMINATED, NUMBER OF PARTICIPATING JURISDICTIONS, THE CONTENT OF THE MATERIAL, AND THE POPULATION OF THE PARTICIPATING JURISDICTION. THE PROJECT CONCEPT, ITS FORMULATION AND IMPLEMENTATION, AND THE REACTION TO THE PROJECT AND PERFORMANCE BY PARTICIPATING LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES AND PUBLIC. NEARLY 90 PERCENT OF THE PARTICIPATING AGENCIES WERE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENTS. THE APPENDIX CONTAINS THE QUESTIONNAIRE THAT WAS USED IN THE SURVEY PHASE OF THE EVALUATION. THE EVALUATORS WERE PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS AND RECOMMENDED THAT THE PROJECT BE CONTINUED AND REFUNDED.
