Abstract
Projects funded through preliminary planning and/or construction phases have included maximum security and women's facilities, medical and training facilities, camps, temporary housing, and others. Of the original $495,000,000 prison bond authorization, $492,411,000 has been appropriated. Of this amount, $15,409,000 has been reverted and $2,061,000 has been removed by executive orders. Thus, as of September 30, 1983, there was an unappropriated balance of $20,059.000. An additional $7,450,000 is planned for reversion, increasing this balance to $27,509,388. This balance will then be available for future augmentation or appropriation of new prison projects. If the planned reversions occur, the previously appropriated amount will be reduced to $467,491,662 with a total approximate expenditure of $16,446,152. Substantial tabular data are provided.
