The newest technology in police warning lights is the Neobe technology from Tomar Electronics.
Abstract
The Neobe emergency lights combine the intensity of strobe with the long dwell time of halogen lights. The result is the highest level of conspicuity available; conspicuity is the ability of a flashing emergency light to capture the attention of other motorists. This is done by exhibiting a high degree of flash energy to be spotted from a greater distance and a high activity level to attract other drivers' peripheral vision. The Neobe power supply is made from military-grade components for military reliability. Power supply reliability and extended lamp life were targeted during the design phase, according to a representative of the manufacturer. Neobe emergency lights are currently in service in several police departments.
