Abstract
THE PROPOSED MODEL SUB-DIVIDES THE RAPE OFFENSE INTO THE FOLLOWING TYPES - RAPE, A FELONY WITH A MAXIMUM SENTENCE OF 15 YEARS, GROSS SEXUAL IMPOSITION, A FELONY WITH MAXIMUM SENTENCE OF 10 YEARS, AND SEXUAL IMPOSITION, A MISDEMEANOR WITH MAXIMUM SENTENCE OF 5 YEARS. SENTENCING CRITERIA FOR THESE OFFENSES ARE INCLUDED, WITH CONSIDERATION OF BOTH THE OFFENDER AND THE SPECIFIC OFFENSE.
