SURVEY OF THE INCIDENCE AND OFFENSE CHARACTERISTICS OF INSURANCE FRAUD IN POLAND, WHICH IS FAR LESS COMMON THERE THAN IN THE UNITED STATES AND WESTERN EUROPE DUE TO THE SOCIALISTIC NATURE OF THE ECONOMY AND INSURANCE SYSTEM.
Abstract
SINCE 1973 CHARGES WERE BROUGHT AGAINST 317 OFFENDERS WHO CAUSED LOSSES EQUAL TO ONE-FOURTH OF ONE PERCENT OF THE RECEIPTS FROM INSURANCE PREMIUMS. HALF OF THE OFFENSES WERE COMMITTED WITH THE COLLUSION OF EMPLOYEES OF THE POLISH NATIONAL INSURANCE ORGANIZATION. DESCRIBED ARE THE CRIMINAL METHODS USED IN VARIOUS TYPES OF FRAUD. --IN POLISH.
