Abstract
AREAS OF EXAMINATION ARE ADMINISTRATION, INSTITUTIONAL PROCESSES AND SERVICES, CORRECTIONAL LAW AND INMATE AFFAIRS, AND COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES. THE TASK FORCE CONCLUDES THAT CORRECTIONS ARE A WELL-DOCUMENTED FAILURE AND THAT THE ADULT CORRECTIONS SYSTEM MUST BE ALTERED, RENOVATED, AND CHANGED IF IT IS TO BE AN EFFECTIVE UNIT OF GOVERNMENT. THE TASK FORCE OFFERS RECOMMENDATIONS FOR SOLVING THE IMMEDIATE AND LONG-RANGE PROBLEMS OF OHIO'S CORRECTIONAL SYSTEMS. THE EXHIBITS ARE OF INTEREST AND REFERENCES MAY BE FOUND THROUGHOUT THE REPORT.
