The OJJDP News @ a Glance, November/December 2021 highlights OJJDP's commitment to American Indian and Alaska Native youth, the State Relations and Assistance Division National Training Conference, a youth advisor to the National Mentoring Resource Center, and the use of Peacemaking Circles by Tribal communities. 

Abstract

This issue's Message from the Acting Administrator and top story recognize National Native American Heritage Month and highlight OJJDP's efforts to better serve Tribal youth. Additional stories feature a college freshman who serves as a youth advisor to the National Mentoring Resource Center and OJJDP's National Training Conference for state officials. The Tribal Connections section describes the benefit of providing trauma-informed training to staff at the Ohkay Owingeh Tribe's Community School, the use of Peacemaking Circles by Tribal communities, and an effort by the Blackfeet Nation's Tribal Healing to Wellness Court Project to incorporate programming to strengthen participants' cultural connectedness.
