Abstract
OJP is the premier resource for the justice community and provides Federal leadership in developing the Nation’s capacity to prevent and control crime, administer justice, and assist crime victims. Through its components, OJP enhances the capacity of law enforcement agencies throughout the country to respond to crime; bolsters State and local efforts to reduce delinquency and victimization among youth; advances scientific research and technology development to improve public safety; provides objective information about the scope and prevalence of crime and victimization; and improves services to crime victims. An overview of the work of the OJP’s components encompasses the Bureau of Justice Assistance; the Bureau of Justice Statistics; the National Institute of Justice; the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention; the Office for Victims of Crime; and Sex Offender Sentencing, Monitoring, Apprehending, Registering, and Tracking (SMART) Office. Six other offices within OJP provide agency-wide support. This CD-ROM contains OJP products and publications related to unity assistance, counter terrorism/intelligence, courts/corrections, general resources, juvenile justice law enforcement, and victims of crime.
