THE CENTRAL FOCUS OF THIS REPORT IS A SCHEMATIC DIAGRAM ILLUSTRATING THE COMPONENTS WHICH MAKE UP THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM OF OMAHA-DOUGLAS COUNTY, NEBRASKA. AN ACCOMPANYING NARRATIVE DESCRIBES THE PROCESSES AND ALTERNATE FLOW POSSIBILITIES. CONCENTRATION IS PLACED ON THE POINT OF ARREST AND CONCOMITANT PROCESSES, STATUTES, AND ALTERNATIVES. THE JUVENILE SYSTEM IS ILLUSTRATED AND NARRATED IN A SIMILAR FORMAT. THE REPORT INCLUDES A GLOSSARY OF TERMS SOMETIMES THOUGHT OF AS AMBIGUOUS BECAUSE OF THE MULTIPLICITY OF USAGE AND INTERPRETATION.
