ALPHABETICAL LISTING OF NON-JUDICIAL SERVICES AVAILABLE TO CHILDREN IN TROUBLE IN COLUMBUS AND FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, COVERING SUCH ITEMS AS ADDRESSES, DIRECTORS, CLIENT POPULATIONS, FUNDING, AND AGENCY PROGRAMS.
Abstract
THE INVENTORY IS BASED ON PERSONAL INTERVIEWS OF 63 AGENCY DIRECTORS. THE AGENCIES SURVEYED INCLUDED FIVE ONE-TO-ONE VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS; FIVE CHILDREN'S RESIDENTIAL INSTITUTIONS; 11 COMMUNITY CENTERS, SETTLEMENT HOUSES AND NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCILS; 12 MENTAL HEALTH CENTERS; 11 FAMILY AND INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING PROGRAMS; NINE GROUP HOMES; EIGHT DRUG COUNSELING OR TREATMENT PROGRAMS; THREE PREGNANCY COUNSELING PROGRAMS; TWO EMPLOYMENT COUNSELING AND TRAINING PROGRAMS; TWO HEALTH PROGRAMS; 17 CRISIS SERVICES AND SIX RECREATION PROGRAMS. THE TOTAL OF 91 PROGRAMS RESULTS FROM INCLUSION OF SOME AGENCIES IN MORE THAN ONE SERVICE CATEGORY. AN INDEX OF AGENCIES BY SERVICE CATEGORY IS ALSO INCLUDED. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)
