These articles discuss the initiative of the Chiefs of Police National Drug Task Force for addressing the problem of workplace drug abuse, in partnership with Health Services of North America (HSNA).
Abstract
The task force seeks first to educate employers about the dangers of drug abuse and the destructive effects that drug-using employees can have on a workplace. It also recommends a well-designed drug testing program that uses a laboratory approved by the National Institute on Drug Abuse together with a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program. The HSNA program is comprehensive, providing employers with all necessary materials, training, procedures, personnel, and followup to conduct a complete drug program that is also cost-effective. Discussion of drug testing and document presenting detailed guidelines on testing.
