STABILITY OF SCHOOL EXPERIENCE, AS MEASURED BY ATTENDANCE REGULARITY AND FREQUENCY OF CHANGING SCHOOLS, AND ATTITUDE TOWARD SCHOOL - LIKE OR DISLIKE - IS RELATED TO RECIDIVISM AMONG ISRAELI JUVENILE DELINQUENTS.
Abstract
IN OTHER PERCEPTIONS OF SCHOOL EXPERICNCE, DETERMINED BY QUESTIONNAIRES SENT TO INDIVIDUALS WITH JUVENILE ARREST RECORDS, NO SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCES WERE FOUND BETWEEN YOUTHS WHO HAD NO FURTHER ARRESTS AND THOSE WHO DID. 'CONTINUERS' HAD POORER ATTENDANCE RECORDS, CHANGED SCHOOLS MORE OFTEN, AND WERE LESS LIKELY TO EXPRESS A LIKING FOR SCHOOL. RELATIONSHIPS WERE DETERMINED THROUGH REGRESSION ANALYSIS.
