This commentary offers a personal reflection on the issues and controversies surrounding the value of standards for correctional health care and the impact of accreditation.
          Abstract
In part one of a personal retrospective, offered by the retired director of accreditation for the National Commission on Correctional Health Care, considerations were discussed in correctional health care in the areas of community health service connections, the essence and role of standards, and aspects of accreditation. In this part two retrospective, the evolution to revolution, keys to continued progress, and solving correctional health care puzzles are addressed. The article is intended for those who see the value of standards for correctional healthcare, and the impact accreditation can have on the field. The considerations presented are meant to be generic to the field in its various standard presentations and processes for acknowledging quality. Notes
