This issue of the Police Chief contains six feature articles.
Abstract
The feature articles include: 1) Report of the 119th Annual IACP Conference in San Diego, California features a recap of the 2012 exposition providing the latest in law enforcement technology, equipment, education, networking and products; 2) Cops Count, Police Matter: Of Tactics and Strategy discusses community policing; 3) Cost-saving Efforts of the New Zealand Police: Opportunities for the United States examines the New Zealand Police service for ideas on increasing agency efficiencies; 4) A Synopsis of Some Featured Departments Providing Medical Support to Police Field Operations investigates a number of agencies who have developed programs aimed at decreasing the risk of death or disability from injuries suffered by officers in the field; 5) Law Enforcement Medicine: Core Concepts from the IACP Police Physicians examines law enforcement medical support, an umbrella concept that encompasses preventive medicine, self-aid/buddy-aid, first responder/first provider, and Tactical Emergency Medical Support; and 6) The IACP/Target International Police Officer of the Year Award covers the winner and honorable mentions at the awards luncheon and ceremony held during the 2012 IACP Conference.
