Abstract
PROBLEMS EXPERIENCED WITH THE PREVIOUS POLICE COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM ARE FIRST OUTLINED. THE NEW SYSTEM, FUNDED WITH A GRANT FROM THE LAW ENFORCEMENT ASSISTANCE ADMINISTRATION, CONTAINS SUCH FEATURES AS A NEW TWO CHANNEL UHF MOBILE AND HAND-HELD PORTABLE RADIO SYSTEM, SIX SETS OF SATELLITE RECEIVERS DISTRIBUTED ABOUT THE HIGHEST LEVELS OF THE CITY, A VOTING RECEIVER SYSTEM, AND A RADIO REPEATER. ADVANTAGES OF THIS NEW SYSTEM ARE OUTLINED.
