A total of 1,225,149 reported crimes were committed in North-Rhine Westphalia, West Germany, during 1982, representing an increase of 7.5 percent over the previous year; 2.5 percent of the total were crimes of violence.
Abstract
The report includes graphs and diagrams illustrating crime trends in the State since 1963 and since 1973 and shows crime rates by administrative jurisdiction and by police district. Also reported are offenses against national security and offenses processed by the border police. Tables show statistics on offender characteristics, juvenile offenders, and non-German offenders. Extensive tabulations are also presented on violent crime, white-collar crime, missing persons, and crime in the major cities of the country. The bulk of the document consists of tabular material.
