MANUAL DESIGNED FOR USE BY THE PHILADELPHIA POLICE, CONCERNING THE ROLE OF THE POLICE IN RELATIONSHIP TO THE REST OF THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM.
Abstract
THE VARIOUS COMPONENTS OF THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM ARE OUTLINED, PARTICULARLY THE PENNSYLVANIA COURT SYSTEM. OTHER POLICE FORCES, BOTH STATE AND FEDERAL, WHICH AT TIMES INTERACT WITH THE PHILADELPHIA POLICE, ARE DISCUSSED. EMPHASIS IS ON THE EXPLANATION OF WHERE THE AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITIES HAVE BEEN DELEGATED. THE CLEAR AND SIMPLE STYLE FACILITATES ITS USE AS A TRAINING GUIDE AND HANDY REFERENCE WORK.
