POLYGAMY IS A SIGNIFICANT CRIME CAUSE FACTOR IN SOME MOSLEM COUNTRIES, SINCE IT CONTRIBUTES TO ECONOMIC UNDERDEVELOPMENT, DOMESTIC STRIFE, AND NEGLECT OF MINORS.
Abstract
THE AUTHOR CONTENDS THAT RESENTMENT AMONG WIVES AND CHILDREN LIVING IN THE SAME HOUSEHOLD OFTEN LEADS TO VIOLENCE. HE FURTHER CONTENDS THAT LACK OF COOPERATION IN A POLYGAMOUS FAMILY STRUCTURE IS A CAUSE OF POVERTY AND PARENTAL NEGLECT WHICH IN TURN CONTRIBUTE TO VAGRANCY AND JUVENILE DELINQUENCY AMONG MINORS.
